DSOrganize 2.9 NeoFlash Released!

I've entered DSOrganize into the NeoFlash competition. Hopefully this competition will be a little better run than GBAX. Head on over to the NeoFlash Forums to grab the latest source. To have a look-see at what was added, read up on the wiki. Highlights of this revision include simple image and css support on the browser, sndh playback, wav and sid file enhancements, and a ton of bugfixes and interface tweaks! I hope you guys enjoy this release.

Also, thanks to everyone who helped me to afford my new computer. It's been so nice developing on a machine that can compile quickly!

Nice! I'm on vacation and my microSD card got corrupted (hehe, sorry but your awesome software has only one drawback of randomly corrupting memory cards quite often) or I'd test it out. Does this require a memory expansion of any sort? If not, then that's awesome and you've still got the best DS browser out there (although okiwi is looking pretty good now.)

I love you. I really do. (In a non-homosexual kinda' way)

Excellent job. Hopefully this works on my card. (Datel Max Media Dock with Lexar 2GB CF) My CF card is strange. I can play a lot of roms others can't, but I can't load that other MMD'ers can. (That's Lexar for you)

You will win. Nothing comes close to DSOrganize (except for Moonshell, but..)

Wow sounds cool; checking it out when I get back from school.

awesome update dragon.the image support is amazing.the only problem with dso for me is most of the time i get server unreachible. But dso works fine on a higher speed connection such as 256kbps. mine is 64kbps so i guess what is left is only optimize wifi for slower connection speeds

thanks again dragon

I don't know. In GBAX competition I didn't even come top three, and they didn't say why, so I don't know if I will win.

thanks for your work DragonMinded!

unfortunately i'm having serious troubles with this new version.

I'm using Ez4 with the alt dldi, and it takes around 30 seconds to load, and every function lags from irc to music playback.

2.8 and all previous versions worked fine!

the gbax was rigged i think for some reason only psp hombrew won.im pretty sure youll get in top 3

DragonMinded said...

You've just discribed your own problem, it's with the DLDI.

Well my lags too. I have a supercard SD and i used .sc.nds version. My music and irc works fine. but it takes like 45 seconds to boot up and and lags in main menu.

BUT everything else works great. Love the simple images. With you doing simple images. do you plan on doing a full image support.

THINGS I WANT;

1. Full image support (i really dont want it that badly)
2. Able to turn off images so it will load faster. ( only if you do the full image support.
3. Able to render web pages on how the actually look on the Computer. (like okiwi)

THANKS!!!

You can already turn off images. Look at the configuration. Large images don't fit on the screen, and I've said countless times that I am not going to make horizontal scroll because it becomes very cumbersome to read information on the screen.

Cool! Do images/CSS in the web bgrowser work on slot-1 cards? with no memory expansion?

This new version's file browser bothers me quite a bit. I tried to copy a file to another folder that had a backup of the original, but the resulting file was blank(0.0k). Later, after playing a game, I did a soft reset, booted to DSO and when I got to the file browser it showed two of everything!

By the way, I use a Supercard SD and the thing's DLDI patched and all. Oh, and good luck with the competition!

to quote brandon: "I love you. I really do. (In a non-homosexual kinda' way)"
This has just become my favorite appication for the DS ever!
thank you so very much for being so good and nice. (for sharing it ;)

I didn't make any changes to the file browser save for aesthetic fixes. Make sure you are patching properly.

I want to update the Tango custom icons. What should the icon be named for Homebrew Database and for the Not Implemented icons? Thanks.

i got a SC Ds One,

Root directory installed, and correctly patched.

Unable to connect to internet... with 2.9

2.8 works better, i can connect with 2.8, but with 2.9... not =(

Hi Shaun.
I was the one who sent you the vcard folder wich had memory problems with 2.8.
And now it works wonderful in 2.9, thank you for the best app i ever seen in my DS.

By the way, would you use an optional way to make use of the slot 2 extra RAM? I see the genesis plugin doesn't have enough RAM for 1MB roms, but works with 512KB ones. And webbrowser itself locks when the loaded page fills the RAM.
You could make it optional. Its possible?
Also, the main bgs could be skineable too, like 2 256x192 simple bitmaps?
This way we could use tranparent bg icons with full themeable backgrounds and have more elaborate skins.

Thanks anyways for the great app.

Why is DSO now broken on the M3? All other versions I've tried worked fine, now it stops with an error telling me I need to run it on a GBAMP... I AM! And all prior versions worked!

Anonymous said...

Just to clarify, it now won't seemingly work on a Slot 2 M3 CF. It worked just fine in prior versions.

Is there a guide for getting online with DSO? I have no idea how to with the nintendo USB connector.

First time poster, jsut wanted to say that it must be discouraging sometimes when new releases just cause bug reports (though its understandable) just wanted to say it works fine on my M3 slot 2 SD. the web browser is really nice, its great to be able to do a google image search and browse wikipedia with a little more colour. keep up the good work and dont be discouraged!

Now DSOrganize is very nice (just got it [on my R4 revolution], and use it mainly for playing music), but I have noticed a couple of flaws:

* Songs on playlists, play in sequential order, no matter if I set it to "Single file", "Sequential" or (which I want it on, most of the time) "Random".

* The sound from played songs stops if you close the DS without useing headphones. It'll still go on further in the song, but it doesn't output any sound.

* It tends to freeze during playback

Also it's to bad that there is no character recognition thing, so you can input text, by writing it with the stylus, but I guess that isn't so easy.
